National Invite Your Neighbor to Church Day is an annual event where churches across the country encourage their members to invite their neighbors, friends, and family to attend a church service with them.

National Invite Your Neighbor to Church Day (Neighbor Day) is held on the first Sunday in October each year.

Participating in the National Invite Your Neighbor to Church Day is a great and intentional way to encourage your church in the active participation and pursuit of the Great Commission to “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature (Mark 16:15) “.

It’s also a great way to connect with your community and introduce people to your church. It's an opportunity to share the love of Christ with those who may not have a relationship with Him and to help others grow in their faith.

If you are a Church/Ministry, you can start by registering your church (it’s free!) and saying “count us in!”. Then you will be sent an email with some instructions, tips, and other resources.

If you are an individual, a great first step is to send the link to this page to your Pastor/Leader and tell them about the “National Invite Your Neighbor to Church Day”. You can also click here to register yourself personally, to be sent emails, videos, and resources about sharing the love of Jesus and the good news of the gospel everywhere you go.

Invite your Neighbor to Church Day is a vision that was given to Ben & Jodie Hughes from Pour It Out Ministries as a simple way to help churches reach the lost in their communities.

We encourage you to literally invite your next door neighbors, those across the road, and also Invite ANYONE who is open to attending a church service with you. This could include neighbors, friends, family members, co-workers, the local barista, supermarket worker, or anyone you think may benefit from attending church.

You can prepare for National Invite Your Neighbor to Church Day by praying for your neighbors and beginning to build an active relationship with them. Many people have never even met their neighbors, so this is a great opportunity to meet your neighbors and begin to pray for them. Here are some ways to pray:

• Pray their hearts and eyes would be open to the gospel and the truth of who Jesus is.

• Pray they encounter Jesus and His love and kindness (which leads to repentance Romans 2:4) in a real, fresh and powerful way.

• Declare over them the word of God that says “You will know the truth and the truth will set them free”. John 8:32.

  You can also plan special activities or events for that day to make it extra special. We encourage especially that salvation testimonies are shared that day and a clear presentation of the gospel and an opportunity (altar call) for people to say yes to Jesus. More to come on that…

There is no fee to participate in National Invite Your Neighbor to Church Day. It is a free event that is open to all churches and individuals who want to participate.
